About Me
After growing up in the Harrisburg area I attended college in Boston then postponed my law school aspirations and began a business career there. My business career spanned fifteen years in progressive accounting and financial positions with two different global organizations both working extensively with startup and emerging businesses. When I returned to Pennsylvania in 2002, I was able to pursue my dream of becoming an attorney to help people navigate life’s legal curveballs as well as to be closer to family.
When I graduated from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University, I passed the bar examination immediately and was admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania. I did not immediately pursue a traditional path of grinding out long hours as a new associate at a big firm but instead I returned to the business world and focused on helping my employer as an in-house counsel working with a number of entrepreneurial startups within the company’s family of businesses. In addition to helping entrepreneurs with all of the legalities of starting, growing and running new businesses , I began to explore the possibility of starting my own solo law practice. I decided to concentrate on the areas of law most of us encounter at some point in our lives – family, financial matters, accidents, death (probate, trusts, Wills, etc), real estate, and more.
After the company I worked for was sold and relocated to the West Coast I moved my law practice into high gear working largely with other attorneys I’ve remained in contact with since law school.
In addition to my practice I am also serving the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the State Civil Service Commission. In my spare time I enjoy travel, watching sports (primarily football and golf) and serving my community as a Deacon at my church in Harrisburg. I offer my services through a number of pro bono programs primarily for estate planning for first responders and veterans.
And a bit more about my practice
I did not set out to offer legal services to everyone and for every legal matter. Instead I chose to focus on legal matters in which I have particular expertise and passion for helping people resolve their legal issues.
My practice is narrowly focused on only a few somewhat specialized legal services:
Small and growing Business organization and services
Trusts, Wills&Estates
Debtor/Creditor law
If you have a legal matter outside these particular areas please contact me and I will not “guess” but may be able to point you to one of my colleagues who has the expertise you need. I will not guess at answers for legal matters I am not experienced with nor will I waste your time learning ‘on your dime’.
Finally, my primary office is located in Harrisburg, Dauphin County but I practice throughout Central Pennsylvania including Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, Snyder and Union Counties.
